The Knights of the Blazing Sun are a elite order of Templars devoted to the study and mastery of the science and art of warfare.

This is brave Knight of The Blazing Sun – Empire finest soldiers, we is wielding ( like all the knights ) Great sword and he is in heavy, magic, well crafted – armor. They are followers of Myrmidia, so they value ability and accomplishment over all other (noble birth either). The Templars of Myrmidia are known for having a clear head even in the heat of war. It is because of this that the order has grown in prosperity attracting the finest military tactics to its banner. They stride into battle shoulder to shoulder with their comrades shouting out orders and commands even as they swing their great blades. Rapid reactions and a calm clear mind are the Knights greatest abilities, allowing them to bolster their allies in struggle of war, while removing any advantage their enemies may have had.

Heavily armored with ornately engraved plate mail depicting motifs of war and glory
Visored full helms, frequently adorned with elaborate plumage
Wields both broadsword and shield and powerful two handed Great Swords

A Knight of the Blazing Sun’s primary goal is to obtain perfection in the art of War, as such they travel the old world, seeking battle both large and small. A warband with a Knight of the Blazing sun at it’s head is a potent force capable of dealing with opponents with a level of cunning that ensures victory before the battle is even joined.

A single Knight is a potent force indeed, but the Knight of the Blazing Sun truly shines when he is directing a force of allies in the heat of Battle. Knights must watch the battle and determine which commands and strategies are best for the situation.

Path of Glory
Glory can be found regardless of arms or armor, and as such Knights of this mastery can be found wielding either a long sword or sword and shield. Path of Glory excel at inspiring allies to ever amazing feats of courage. These Knights can be found almost everywhere in the battle, leading everyone and are welcome addition to both offensive & defensive maneuvers.

Path of Conquest
Path of Conquest makes knights professional at pushing the battle line forward. Their battlefield commands focus on raising the fighting power of their allies to take advantage of their enemy weaknesses. Knights focused on Conquest uses more offensively oriented great sword, to defeat theirs enemies.

Path of Vigilance
The Path of Vigilance is helping to build a strong defense to cripple opponents and protect comrades. Knights choosing this mastery have a variety of commands that will increase their defensive prowess as well as those of nearby allies. This allows them to dig in and hold against almost any assault.

Probably the most effective defense against the Knight is to keep them on their toes and make them spend more time commanding then participating in the battle – focus to make them run. As with all heavily armored fighters the Knight of the Blazing sun is slower at closing the distance with ranged attackers and can be easy to hit by ranged magic or even missile fire. It is for this reason that Knight’s frequently surround themselves with strong friends to seal off their own weaknesses. Warhammer is multilplayer game, so there is no problem with allies out there.

Bastion Stair

Posted: July 12, 2007 in Warhammer basics

As you read before, Slaurith can be found on the Arena in Bastion Stair. Its a great, chaos Blood God fortress, where dark portal connect mortal world with realm of Khorne. Dark portal is in the site called Rift of Rage, where he inundate the Old World with dark magic.

Destruction forces want power from it and forces of Order want to seal this portal, (like that expedition leaded by Sir Luthor von Zakenhelm) but all of them must confront the greatest and most terrible of Khorne’s deamons – BLOODTHRISTER. He is around 7 m tall, he has powerful Axe of Khorne, powerful whip and Armor of Chaos as a gifts from Bloodgod (Khorne). I remember this daemon from Warhammer Fantasy Battle – he was biggest, toughest and ugliest mother… miniature from all Warhammer Armies.

Let’s talk about Bastion Stairs. The blood god which resembles a great wall with giant steps leading very, very high… It is one of the major strongholds, and the site of the Rift of Rage, a deadly Chaos Portal – threatening to corrupt the Old World with its cursed winds of magic. In WAR, the Bastion Stair serves as a difficult end-game PvE Dungeon and the source of Bloodlord armor set gear. When we enter the Stair, we find ourselves in a central room with boiling molten brass and glaring skulls. From there, 2 portals and a staircase lead to various “wings” of the complex.

Each wing is defended by numerous daemonic servants of Khorne and contains 4 bosses including a challenging end boss.

Path of Fury (Creatures Rank 35 – 36)

The wing boss is, mentioned before, Lord Slaurith (see picture above). The Path of Fury can be easy reached through the right-hand portal in the central area. It is populated mostly by savage Marauders and tough Chosen of Khorne (my favorite warriors anyway).

Trail of Carnage (creatures Rank 33 – 34)

The wing boss is Thar’lgnan. The Trail of Carnage is entered through the left-hand portal of the main entryway. Within may be found a winding stairway leading downwards, followed by a series of halls leading to a massive arena with a few short halls beyond. The area is populated by Beastmen => mostly Tuskgors & Centigors.

The Steps of Ruin (creatures Rank 37 – 39)

The wing boss is Kaarn the Vanquisher. The Steps of Ruin are reached by ascending the stairs at the northern end of the central area. The population of this area is largely mighty Bloodbeasts, ferocious Bloodletters, crazy Chaos Furies and deadly Flesh Hounds.

Ok, bosses…Ready your axes!

The various PQs in the BS each have a boss and each wing also has a boss (challenging servant of Chaos) the last one being a terrifying…Bloodthirster…gulp…

“Luthor’s eyes burned red with murderous rage as he hunted down his former comrades. Some joined him, swayed by Khorne’s promise of power, and others refused, only to be thrust upon Luthor’s blade.”

More info about Bastion Stair instance! The Bastion Stair is a Chaos fortress in the Chaos Wastes controlled by one of the Chaos Gods – Khorne. To stand against powerful Chaos Champion Slaurith and obtain some fancy items, you need to visit this ancient citadel. Earlier he was one of Knights of The Blazing Sun and commanded dangerous expedition to seal the Chaos gate in Bastion Stair. After long journey to that forsaken place, where power of chaos rule, he arrived with his knight finally, but soon after made a dark pact with blood god Khorne, graded by great power. He hunted down all knights, only few joined him, all others were slaughtered without mercy. Sir Luthor had once been a noble warrior who willingly left his country and travelled far into the Chaos Wastes to battle Chaos and corruption, but all trace of his former self was now gone, Luthor had been reborn as demonic knight Slaurith, who waits to this day in his arena for a worthy challenger…

If you are entering instance with Slaurith, everyone must watch out for his Bloodscent ability – it’s the biggest threat – so watch out!

Lord Slaurith has four abilities:

=> Bloodpulse (Spiritual damage) is a ground effect AoE (area-of-effects) that he will cast on a random player every 20-30 seconds. When it’s cast you will see a deadly blastwave emitted from him. If you see it – just run away from him. It deals 1,500 to 3,500 damage per second for 3 seconds, so it’s his main weapon. At the same time, a glowing, swirling area of red will appear under random player character, so it’s time to run away. It has a radius of about 12 feet (which Warhammer Online considers to be something like 30 feet). If no one is standing the AoE at the end of the duration, he will use Blood Shout. Anyone standing in the AoE at the end of the duration is de buffed with Bloodscent.

=> Bloodscent is a de buff that gives 100% threat for an unknown duration. It’s not worst thing, but everyone should watch out.

=> He also has a silence ability that he may use on everyone within about 14 feet of the boss.

=> Blood Shout (Spiritual damage) is AoE DoT (everyone in the instance is hit, even people with no line of sight to Lord Slaurith) hitting every character for around 300 – 900 damage every few seconds. This DoT will be applied to every character if someone runs out of his Bloodpulse. Its annoying, but not even half bad, like Bloodpulse.

Strategy? How to fight against this boss?…don’t ask me

After finishing few articles about Warhammer Online, and watching videos from official website, I’m really impressed with everything related to Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Concept arts, desktop themes, videos – everything is perfect. Well, I love Warhammer Fantasy Battle and Warhammer Fantasy Role Play, because I played a lot years ago in both these games. I still got powerful army for Chaos somewhere in my room (you know in box ;p) hehe. My friends from neighborhood also know this very popular games, we were very huge fan of Warhammer and we still are!

Warhammer Online game engine will be a lot better than this one used in World of Warcraft (srry World of Warcraft fans ;p…). Game engine has been taken from Dark Age of Camelot and is being improved by EA Mythic team. In Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning everyone can experience the epic nature of war. We can play and pick our side, where the armies of Order (High Elves, Dwarfs, and Empire) and Destruction (Greenskins, Dark Elves, and Chaos) fight and change the fate of nations. Ready for attacking enemy lands, besiege imposing fortresses, and devastate capital cities for the glory of your Realm (Order capitol – Altdorf, Destruction capitol – Inevitable City). Wield devastating magic and powerful weapons, battle monstrous creatures, and join your comrades in epic Public Quests. Also we can enter the Bastion Stair – ancient lair of the Blood God Khorne, complete powerful items sets such as Conqerour, Warlord, Sovereign for ultimate power! You can carry Guild Banner into battle to improve your and your buds stats, and unlock the secrets of the Tome of Knowledge!

Realm vs. Realm (RvR) gameplay means you will never fight alone, but as part of an army of allied gamers sworn to defend your homeland and conquer enemy Realms. Your every action-every quest completed, every battle fought-contributes to the war effort and can turn the tide of battle, bringing victory to your Realm!

If you love fighting arm by arm with friends against otherwise insurmountable odds in awesome Public Quests. These cooperative PvE missions unfold across multiple stages and allow solo gamers to experience the glory of Realm vs Realm.

In Warhammer Online, we can witness interesting guild features with unprecedented control to leaders and members, and make guilds an integral part of the war efforts. Guilds can create unique heraldry, capture castles, and earn Guild Tactics as they grow in power.

Embark on the amazing quest to complete the Tome of Knowledge and unlock Warhammer lore, detailed monster information, new abilities and rewards, and major story plotlines. The Tome is also the story of your life in the game, tracking your achievements to share with other gamers.

we can also explore large cities that become more or less prosperous based on a Realm’s overall performance in the ongoing war. Navigate a maze of twisting streets, visit the local tavern (yeah we can even met Felix Jaeger and Gotrek Gurnisson in Altdorf or Aekold Hellbrass at Inevitable City), explore a dark under-city, and meet colorful personalities. Damn where is Arbaal Undeafeted??

Drawing from a quarter century of highly detailed source material, WAR brings Games Workshop’s amazing fantasy world to life in a way that will allow players to create avatars destined for amazing deeds and glory on the field of battle.

Welcome on my blog, dedicated to Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning – MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), set in Games Workshop Warhammer universum. Game is currently under development so I want to add from time to time, something related to WAR. EA Mythic Entertainment is known for successful “Dark Age of Camelot”. About Dark Age of Camelot I can say, that is a 3D medieval fantasy MMORPG that revolves around war between 3 realms following King Arthur’s rule.

Warhammer Online is functioning Realm vs. Realm (RvR). Player must choose between forces of good (Armies of Order – Dwarfs, High Elfs, or human soldiers of the Empire.) or evil (Armies of Destruction – Greenskins (Goblin or Orc), Dark Elfs, and humans of Dark Gods of Chaos).

I would like to show more about races – Armies of WAR, you can choose of.

“The Dwarfs are an ancient and industrious race that is long past its prime. Their once-great empire of Karak Ankor now lies in ruins and many of the Dwarfs’ mighty mountain holds have been abandoned or conquered by Orcs and Goblins, with whom the Dwarfs have warred for centuries.”

Dwarfs – Ironbreaker (tank), Slayer (Male Only – mdps), Engineer (rdps), Runepriest (healer)

“The greatest nation of men in the Old World, the Empire is composed of the human descendants of Sigmar, who united the tribes of men at the Battle of Black Fire Pass. Sigmar was deified after the battle and his promise of eternal aid to the kingdom of Dwarfs still stands today. Today, the Empire is led by Emperor Karl Franz, who rules from his seat in the city-state of Altdorf.”

The Empire – Knight of the Blazing Sun (tank), Witch Hunter (mdps), Bright Wizard (rdps), Warrior Priest (healer)

“The High Elves are an ancient people with a history that spans millennia. While the ancestors of man were little more than cave-dwelling primitives, the Elves built magnificent cities of glittering silver and white marble on their island home of Ulthuan. Elven scholars and explorers were the first to chart the stars and sail the world’s oceans.

High Elves careers – Swordmaster (tank), White Lion (mdps), Shadow Warrior (rdps), Archmage (healer)

“So named because of the color of their waxy skin, the greenskins are savagery personified. They are ill-tempered, primitive, and live only to fight. In the absence of another foe, greenskins will eventually turn on one another for want of violence. In their culture, might makes right and the weakest members of society are one false step away from being dinner.”

Greenskins – Black Orc (tank), Choppa (mdps), Goblin Squig Herder (rpds), Goblin Shaman (healer)

“In the icy wastes north of Kislev dwell nomadic tribes of barbarians known throughout the Empire as the Northmen. Sometimes a very powerful leader will arise among these savage humans, uniting the tribes into a great warhost that marches south toward Kislev and the Empire. At such times as this, the Northmen seek only bloodshed and conquest, for they are willing servants of the inscrutable Chaos gods…”

Chaos – Chosen (Male Only – tank), Marauder (Male Only – mdps), Magus (rdps), Zealot (healer).

“It was the High Elves who emerged victorious and drove the evil Dark Elves out from the ancestral home of their race. Under the leadership of Malekith the Witch King and his Sorceress mother Morathi, the Dark Elves sailed across the Great Western Ocean and founded for themselves a new kingdom in the northern reaches of the New World. This land they called Naggaroth, meaning ‘land of chill’.”

Dark Elves – Black Guard (tank), Witch Elf (Female Only – mdps), Sorceress/Sorcerer (rdps), Disciple of Khaine (healer)

These careers/classes will be available in the full version of Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning! Maybe you’ve played in Games Workshop’s popular table top Warhammer fantasy game?
